While the intent of incorporating fitness space into mixed-use buildings is to provide a healthy convenience for residential or business occupants, often it can have an adverse effect, impacting the quality of the surrounding residential or commercial space if not designed for acoustical isolation. Independent of the size of the fitness space, small apartment gym to a larger corporate gym, both noise and vibration are potential issues resulting from fitness activity. Using our experience in addressing noise and vibration from fitness centers, we help architects, building owners, and gym owners plan for potential issues with new projects, as well as address issues from existing projects.
